Active: Any person of Irish
lineage who is a full time, sworn member of a law enforcement agency, fire
department, municipal/regional EMS service, or active military service is
eligible for Active Membership. Active members have voting rights and may
hold executive office.
Retired: Any person of Irish
lineage who meets the requirements of Active Membership, but is honorably
retired from his or her service, either by time or disability, may
continue, or apply for, Retired Membership. Retired members have voting
rights and may hold executive office.
Honorably Separated: Any
person of Irish lineage who separates from service prior to the accepted
retirement or separation time, provided that separation was under
honorable conditions, may apply for Honorably Separated Membership.
Honorably separated members do not have voting rights and may not hold
executive office.
Associate: Any person of Irish
lineage who is a part time paid professional member or volunteer member of
any fire, police or municipal/regional EMS service is eligible for
Associate Membership. Associate members do not have voting rights and may
not hold executive office.
A. Members of security forces,
industrial fire brigades (unless the individual’s capacity is
“Firefighter” and it is a full time assignment) medical transport
services, private or for-profit fire, law enforcement or EMS contractors
(even if contracted by a municipality, group of municipalities or other
form of government) are not eligible for membership.
B. Associate
Member by Legacy: An Active or Retired member of the Organization
may request that an immediate family member who does not, with the
exception of lineage, meet membership criteria (e.g. parent,
grandparent, child, sibling) shall be granted Associate Membership
in the Organization.
